Treatment for HealingMy focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of and trust their inner strength. I achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, uncovering hidden potential and co-creating and customizing the implementation of new options and skills which assist the treatment plan.
Relational Issues Our early life dynamics shape us deeply. Through our relationships and experiences we all develop organized and very complex belief systems and ways of being in the world and with others. If, for example, one has has experienced trauma at a vulnerable time, that may engender a wariness of others or a belief that certain situations and people may be unsafe. Or, perhaps, this may lead to dysfunctional compensations, such as hiding or being particularly controlling... Many of the lessons we learn serve us well. However, as we grown these defenses may no longer enable to constructively address the challenges we face. Perhaps hiding in one fashion or another once worked, but now it might leave one feeling isolated and lonely. Similarly, while being distrustful or distant might have once been protective, perhaps now it only sets up self-fulfilling prophecies in which people disappoint you. In my treatment, I work to help people understand their past, and reconnect to these vulnerable parts of themselves so that they can find new possibilities for the future. We can identify the patterns in which you second guess yourself, or hurt yourself, or push other people away. With careful and knowledgeable attunement we can use our therapeutic relationship to understand the complex feelings that come up around intimacy and vulnerability. My therapy provides a safe place in which these old patterns can be examined and new choices can be implemented, ultimately allowing for much healthier relationships in your life.
